The Town Beach is on Lake Harris immediately off of Route 28N, centrally located in the Town of Newcomb.
Residents of Newcomb, and visitors, enjoy many things that fit somewhere between quality of life and amenities. The Town Beach is an incredible place with a covered pavilion, picnic areas, restroom facilities, and fire pits. Certified lifeguards keep a watchful eye on visitors. The boat launch and boat docking area make getting out in your boat easy.
The Town Beach hosts many events over the course of the Summer. Newcomb Lions provide a spectacular Chicken BBQ the first Saturday in July. The Fire Department and Rescue Squad sponsor a Steak Roast the last Saturday in July. Both of these events only sell 700 dinners and draw over 1,000 people. Live entertainment and kids games create a family outing for each event. These are the primary fundraiser's for both of these organizations. Buy you dinner tickets early, if sold out Hamburgers/Hot dogs + Sausage are available.
And don't forget Newcomb Day... a reunion of Newcomb's and Tahawus residents from long ago to current. Return every year the first Sunday in August to catch up with old friends. You're sure to have a good time, we all have something in common... a love for our home in Newcomb, the Heart of the Park.
