Eclipse Weekend Events

On Saturday, April 6th, and Sunday April 7th, join the staff at the Adirondack Interpretive Center for eclipse-related crafts and activities from 10 am to 4 pm. Explore the science behind an eclipse, walk a scale model of the solar system, make a pin hole viewer to safely view the eclipse, and build a model that explains how the tiny moon can block out the sun and why a total solar eclipse is so rare.

At 1 pm on Saturday, come watch the PBS documentary ‘Eclipse Over America’ which “investigates the storied history of solar eclipse science and joins both seasoned and citizen-scientists alike as they don their eclipse glasses, tune their telescopes, and behold the Eclipse Over America.”

On Sunday, in addition to activities, crafts, and a second showing of ‘Eclipse Over America’ at 3 pm, join Professor Luke Keller of Ithaca College’s Department of Physics and Astronomy at 1pm for an informative presentation on the science behind the solar eclipse, followed by a Q&A.
